SEO – Search Engine Optimization

What is SEO, why seo takes time?

SEO, or optimization for search engines, is one of the most important parts of a digital marketing strategy, which can be used to increase the visibility of your website in Google and reach potential customers organically. By responding to the searcher’s intent on your home page, you are ahead of your competitors and multiply your page traffic. This is why seo takes time. It does not happen overnight. If you aim to improve your company’s position on search engine result pages (SERPs – Search Engine Result Page) and increase website traffic, you are on the right track. This is the basis of everything.

Website optimization – strategy

This includes many different techniques, but the one of the most important of them is SEO optimization of the website in terms of content. Technical optimization and link building also bring a lot of success. Keyword analysis must of course be done. Ideally, you should do keyword planning first, then create the content and after that place it on the web page. Design is the very last step in making a website.

Content optimization means adjusting the content of a web page so that it meets the requirements of search engine algorithms, while maintaining its quality and usefulness to people, i.e. the content must meet the searcher’s intent. Content optimization usually involves the use of targeted keywords, meta data optimization and comprehensive text descriptions. The best thing is to conduct a customer interview, from which you can really find out whether your product or service speaks to your customer or not. You can get valuable information from there – this tip was given to me by Timo Porval, who runs an insanely awesome community called Turunduslabor, with the help of which Rolevents has learned a lot about SEO topics.

Technical part of search engine optimization

This includes optimization of the website code, which in turn contributes to a decrease in page loading speed and adapts the website better to mobile devices. What is a good website speed? A good homepage has a loading speed of less than 1.5 seconds. 2 seconds on e-shops. The speed is mostly reduced by excessively added plugins, which are in conflict with each other and are not compatible with each other, but also widgets made with Javascript. You often want to use awesome pop-up solutions, which, however, are mostly a piece of heavy javascript code and are instead detrimental to speed. Not to mention the pop-ups planted on top of each other, which make the user experience very bad. All of them can be used, but it must be done judiciously.

Link building is an important part of SEO, which involves getting quality and authoritative links to your website. Think like this: “If you have €5 and Chuck Norris has €5, then Chuck Norris still has more”. He’s just more authoritative. He is referred to more. But since he is so well known you need a serious amount of time to be refferred as much. So yeah, this is also why seo takes time. But it helps to improve the credibility (authority) of the website and raise its position in the search engine results. One of the best ways to scoop out the links of your competitors have is to use

Entity Search Engine Optimization

Maybe we’ll go even deeper! Web pages are indexed by robots based on machine learning. If we understand that when talking about the nutritional value of cat food, for example, it is obviously related to cats, then the machine learning robot has to make everything that is added to the website clear. For now, we all still enjoy being able to help machines understand us better. Those who do this are at the top of internet search engines such as Google, Bing, etc. Machine learning does not yet have this semantic knowledge, but this is where you can help. Just as you optimize the alt text of your images to help those who use screen readers, you can use certain actions to tell crawling robots what your website and its subpages are about.

Should website optimization be bought in or done by yourself?

SEO is an extremely important part of digital marketing, which helps to organically increase the number of visitors to your website. So, yes, you need it. But prepare yourself, because seo takes time. If you know what to do, you can do it yourself. Otherwise, we recommend ordering an SEO service. Paid advertising is easier to do, but most people are horrified to look past the first positions in Google search, no matter how good the content.

Case study

See how I took Klaasiprofid to the top positions on Google with several keywords and beat many better-known competitors. In their case, this required a new website, which I prepared based on SEO principles. Today, this company almost doesn’t need to advertise, because all traffic comes organically. However, social media marketing in the form of advertisements helps to support the strategy, i.e. during the off-season. In any case, SEO optimization achieves steadily growing traffic and multiple turnover growth. Do you want a similar solution?
